Yvonne Robinson was born on December 7th, 1950 in St. Louis Missouri to the late Rufus & Ira Boclair. Yvonne’s family moved to Chicago in 1962. There she discovered her drive to support & protect her community through social justice efforts with community organization like Acorn, NAACP, and the Rainbow Coalition. Her most proud moment in those years of living in Chicago is birthing and raising her children, marching beside Rev. Jesse Jackson and purchasing her first home by herself. Yvonne was blessed by the lord to have met & loved two honorable men Bernard Robinson who proceeds her in death and Johnnie Lee Jackson who proceeds her in death as well. The bonds they shared were everlasting and together they brought seven beautiful children into this world. In 1992 she decided she wanted something different from life and more opportunity for her youngest children which led her to moving to Minnesota. Along the way she built an unbreakable bond with whom she calls her special friend, Mr. Bill. Yvonne held God close in her trials, tribulations, and triumphs. She was a woman of her own right always searching for peace of mind through the many pains of this life. Yvonne loved a soulful record and a beer over ice on the side. Yvonne unapologetically represented what it mean to be an honest child of God in a world full of distractions. She wore her smile proudly & wished a “mf” would loudly. Yvonne spent her last year’s staying active with her neighbors through her group “Thee Sophisticated Seniors”, loving on her great grand-children as best she could, and doing plenty of socialization with The Old Lady Gang. Everyday but even on the hardest of them all, with little breath in her lungs she would give thanks to God for another day. Yvonne was the person you knew would greet you with a warm smile, a drink, or a meal but especially with a shock worthy joke only a woman that truly lived could tell. She had a compassionate soul and a heart fit for unity above all. Yvonne loved who loved her and she leaves to cherish a beautiful legacy of seven children Bernard Robinson Jr (Benan), Marquita Robinson- Grant (George Grant, deceased), Latonia Robinson, Fredrick Robinson, Felicia Robinson, Lavanna Jackson and Emilia Jackson-Kalley (Bully), sixteen wonderful grand-children Kenyada, Joemel, Yavonne, Keyla, Kayla (deceased), Felicia, Taji, Bernard lll, Melvin, Ar’Tesha, Yasmin, Capus, Heavenlee, Noah, Yasir, Xamaria and sixteen loving great-grandchildren, and twelve beloved siblings Lavern, Annette, Joyce, Brenda, Lovanna, Felicia, Fredrick, Robert and her deceased brothers Rufus Jr, Larry, and Nolan, as well as a host of beloved family members & friends. Yvonne, affectionately known as Hot Stuff was surrounded by her dearest loved ones in her last days, she will always be deeply missed & forever in our hearts.
