William Voss Obituary

William Frank Voss, born in Fridley, Minnesota on October 22, 1970 to Larry Lewis Voss and Evelyn June Voss (nee Lytner) passed away at age 51 peacefully in his sleep on July 29, 2022.

William, known as Bill to everyone, lived his entire life in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.  He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Lewis Voss.  He is survived by his wife, Heather Jo Voss, his two daughters, Luella and Hadleigh Voss, his mother Evelyn June Voss, and his brother Karl Alvin Voss married to Chanin Wendling.  In addition, his life was blessed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and others who he counted as part of his rich and warm extended family. He will be missed beyond words by his family and friends in Minneapolis, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania among other places.

Among those on this list, his deepest and strongest love was for his wife and his two daughters who he adored, who he was proud of, and who motivated him in life.  He was fortunate to have spent a few wonderful vacations in Hawaii with them, as well as many great weekends camping in Wisconsin. His eyes and heart are still focused on them now.

He graduated in 1989 from Irondale High School and continued his education at Dunwoody College of Technology to study automotive collision repair, preparing him for his lifelong career.  He worked for Raymond Auto Body for 0ver 25 years repairing cars as an auto body technician, or as he referred to it as; a trauma surgeon working on forgin cars. one of his favorite ways of helping people in need.  He loved keeping busy and always said yes when asked.

For the many that had the pleasure of spending time with Bill, you know that he spent his life helping and caring about others.  His broad shoulders were always ready to assist someone in need.  Bill was the first call for many people who were stuck in a bind.  His skill with tools and his knowledge of how to fix things gave him ways to help and ways to share.  He was always ready to do so.  He enjoyed working with his hands and they showed traces of the many ways he used them at work and at home.  Bill enjoyed life and kept friends for life, loyal to a fault and always ready to give a handshake, hug, laugh, or tear as the situation called for.  He was a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan and attended their games whenever he could.  He was an avid snowmobile rider and enjoyed his trips with friends.

A remembrance of his life will occur on August 6 at 11:00 am at Billman-Hunt Chapel, 2701 Central Ave NE, Minneapolis 55418.
