Victoria Anna (Nadala) Johnson, of NE Minneapolis, born January 2, 1950 in North Dakota, passed away suddenly in her Columbia Heights home on December 9, 2024, at the age of 74. Vicki was the daughter of Imgard (Newmayr) and Myron Frank Nadala and was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the young age of 5. She was preceded in death by her father, Myron; her mother, Imgard; and her aunt, Monika Hagen. Survived by sisters Helga Erickson and Sophie Collier and brother Frank Nadala; her husband CW Johnson; her devoted daughter, Mara (Johnson) Schneider; her husband, Jason and two beloved grandchildren Marshall and Johanna Schneider, who brought her great joy, esp. with their many sporting events to attend.
A proud graduate of Edison High School in 1968, Vicki worked as an insurance claims examiner for most of her life until she retired from Preferred One in Golden Valley in 2014. She embraced life with an unwavering spirit and unfailing strength. Her love of sewing and crafts, reading, outdoor walks and perfecting her culinary arts saw her through life’s struggles. Her world revolved around her small family. She was always the happiest around her people. Her greatest passion was being a mother and an Oma. She dedicated herself to raising her daughter after having 8 miscarriages, and she was also insanely proud of helping raise her grandchildren before they started school.
Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will remember her warmth, unselfishness, and the countless moments of joy she shared with them. Vicki’s life was a testament to the power of love and acceptance, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of encountering her.
A funeral service will be held in her honor on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Billman Hunt Funeral Chapel, located at 2701 Central Ave NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418, 11am visitation and 12pm service. All who knew and loved Vicki are also invited to a celebration of life reception at Elsie’s Bowling Center, located at 729 Marshall St NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413 from 2-4pm following her service for food, games, and the sharing of stories and cherished memories.
Rest in peace, mom; a world without you is still too difficult to imagine, but your smile and laughter will continue to shine brightly for all the days to come.
