Varman was born in Sumner, Mississippi and later relocated to Gary Indiana. Where he met his lovely wife Carnetta Givens. Varman was an avid fisherman and mechanic. He loved going to the lake to try and catch a big one. And when he wasn’t on the lake he was under someone’s car. Varman helped everyone in need no matter what he was doing. He would stop to give a helping hand. He told amazing stories and jokes (Whoo Doggy).   

Varman worked various jobs, from working at nursing homes, making pies, and as a technician. Varman had many talents. He could fix anything even if he was the one who broke it. Varman was a silent man but would tell you what he was thinking. He was gentle and kind. To know Varman was to love him. He loved everyone friend or foe. And Varman was big on forgiveness. In his free time he enjoyed watching football where he would bet Shon and gloat when he won. He also loved watching wrestling. Varman was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend.

Daughters- Andra Givens, Veda ( Kevin) Dismuke, Priscilla Givens, Ronnettea (Jeffery) Williams, Shalawn Johnson, and Tanisha Oats

Son- Ronald (Brianna) Davis

And many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends

Waiting in Heaven for Varman is his parents Brank and Annabel, son Steven Givens, brothers, Napoleon, Albert, Levi, Cleotis, Cedell, and Mike. Sister Annie Bell Givens
