Teasha Lashene Reid, 54, Minneapolis, MN passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023.
Teasha was born on March 6, 1969, in Greensboro, NC. She attended primary school in
Greensboro. She graduated high school from Madison West High School in Madison,
Wisconsin. Teasha first attended North Carolina A&T University and then graduated
with her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration
from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, MN. Teasha also earned a Master of Arts
Degree in Counseling and Psychotherapy from Adler Graduate School, Richfield, MN.
Teasha began her professional career as a teacher at Southside Nurturing Center in
Minneapolis, MN where she taught for 6 years. She then worked for 7 years at Spring
Path Mental Health Center where her most current position was Relief Mental Health
Practitioner.
Teasha has been very active in the community. She is a member of the American
Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. She has provided free counseling services
at the Harrison Neighborhood Association where she also is an Executive Board Member
and Secretary of the Board. She also served as the Vice President of the Harrison
Theodore Wirth Co-op Grocery. She was previously a mentor with The Big Brother Big
Sister Program. Teasha has been a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority since
2005. Teasha was an avid Aquatic Zumba Instructor and enjoyed Praise Dancing.
Teasha is survived by her mother Dr. Evelyn McCain Reid of Stone Mountain, GA, her
father, James Ernest Reid (Sharon) of Greensboro, NC., sister, Jennifer Reid Egbe
(Anthony), brother James E Reid III, God Parents, Felton and Gerldine Ray, Maurice and
Jacqueline Harrison, Godmother Pidi Mesimege, Botswana, Southern Africa, Godfathers
(Madison Dads) Dr. Jay Saadu, Dr. Kewku Embil, Ghana, Africa, uncles; Willie Lee Reid,
Dennis Ray Reid and aunt Phyllis Reid Ellis, Uncle Herman Farrish, nieces Tru Egbe and
Charlotte Egbe, loving cousins Evette, Renette, John Neal, Jr. and Tonya Farrish.
Teasha is proceeded in death by her maternal grandparents Maggie Matilda & Lawrence
Alfred McCain Sr., fraternal grandparents Willie Mae & James Reid Sr., aunts Shirley M.
Neal and Addie M Farrish and Uncle Lawrence McCain.
Memorial services will be held at Shiloh Temple International Ministries, 1201 W
Broadway, Minneapolis, MN 55411 on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, visitation- 11:00am,
service – 12:00 noon – 1pm.
