TAMARA MARIE TOPLEY (Friestad)

Tamara “Tam” Marie Topley , age 49, of Edina, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly
on September 29, 2025. She was born on September 7, 1976, in Edina, Minnesota, to
David Friestad and Debra Friestad. Tamara was a beloved “Mommy”, wife, daughter,
sister, niece, granddaughter and friend, teammate and co-worker whose kindness and
smile touched everyone she met.
Not long after high school graduation, Tamara enlisted in the Air Force Reserve where
she served 4.5 years in Base Civil Engineering. Her adventurous nature took her down
many paths of work, but her passion and creativity was in metal work/welding. She obtained her Associate
of Arts degree in Welding at Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis MN.
Tamaras marriage to Erin Topley in 2017 evolved from their mutual interests and
hobbies. They spent time enjoying kayaking, cycling, rollerblading, playing broomball,
kickball, hockey, artistic welding and woodworking. When the twins came along in the
summer of 2019, they towed their bundles of joy along to all their social activities.
She is survived by her wife Dr. Erin Topley, her children Dashell and Tatum Topley, her
father David D. Friestad (Marta), her mother Debra J. Friestad (Fiebiger), her sister
Kendra Anderson (Eric), her brother Shane Friestad (Kristy), her aunts Norma Felan
and Sandy Neese, and her nieces Olivia Anderson and Adalyn Friestad.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday October 26, 2025 at 11:00am at Billman-
Hunt Funeral Chapel in Minneapolis MN. Memorial donations can be made to ( NAMI )
National Alliance on Mental Illness per the familys request in Tamaras honor.
