Stanley (Stan) Hammond Orr
Devoted husband, father, brother, friend and “Papa”.

Stanley Hammond Orr passed away on December
27th, 2023 in Arizona, surrounded by his beloved
wife, Jan and son, Tom.
Stan was born on June 7th, 1936 in Hinckley
Minnesota to Walter and Virginia Orr.
Stan married the love of his life Joanne Maureen Cassen, on May 2nd
1959. Stan and Jan were lifelong companions, their love for each other was
strong and passionate. They raised five amazing children, and lived a
wonderful life together. Traveling the United States, and enjoying dinners
and happy hours with friends and family. In Stan’s free time, he had a love
for training and raising German Shepherds and enjoying the outdoors.
Stan and Jan continued to escape the cold Minnesota winters for Arizona
where they lived for several months before traveling back to Minnesota
during the summer to revel in the beauty of the mighty Mississippi. Stan
truly loved the communities they had built and been surrounded by in both
Minnesota and Arizona.
Stan is survived by his wife, Joanne; his children Anthony (Denise), Timothy
(Kim), Thomas (Tracy), Theresa (Andy), and Troy (Lynn); his eight
grandchildren, Matthew, Delaney, Mitchel (Taylor), Michael, AJ (Lucy),
Olivia, Morgan, Madison; three great grandchildren; his sister Nancy Scholl
(Don), and brother Ron Orr (Janee).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Virginia, and his two
brothers, Robert and Roy.
Stan will be especially remembered for his witty jokes, thoughtfulness and
his kind heart.
Stan’s celebration of life will be held at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in
Rogers, Minnesota. Visitation hours will be held from 10:00-11:00, with a service starting at
11:00 am. A luncheon at the church will be provided following the service.
