Ronald Smith Obituary

Ronald Everett Smith Jr. (affectionately known as Ronny) was born on November 2, 1964, to Ronald and Gertrude A. Smith in Boston, MA. Ronny was fun as a kid and as he grew he developed a distinct walk along with his full Scorpio spirit. He liked to laugh and bring others laughter, he was loving and he was protective of those around him; especially the bond he shared with his sister Anna Rhonda; many people often thought they were twins although they were a year apart. Ronny attended elementary and middle schools in Mattapan and Dorchester MA. He later decided to attend Job Corps in North Groton, MA seeking vocational training. In 1982 Ronny relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota with his older sister Michele and attended North High School. Ronny worked at several different restaurant jobs but the one he loved the most was Old Country Buffet. Customers, managers and family loved to visit Ronny at work while serving and providing hospitality to all. He also volunteered serving food at Shiloh Temple in Mpls MN for a long period of time. Ronny is known by his nieces and nephews as the uncle with “THE CLAW”
which was fashioned after the wrestler Baron Von Raschke of the 1970’s. As a brother, Ronny shared special bonds with each of his siblings and many of his nieces and nephews.

Ronny married Jamie (Robinson)(D) and from this union came his children Ronald E. Smith III, Ceasar Smith, Connie Smith, and Brooke Robinson. As God would have it Ronny was blessed with two more daughters Amber Reierson (Becky R.) and Ronnika Smith (Lori B). Ronnie shared his life with Savannah
Ralford and her daughters (Ashley, Amanda, Asia, Kim, Krystal, and Amira,) whom Ronny loved as his own children. Ronny was a family man and loved and supported all of his children and was very proud of each of their accomplishments.
God in love and mercy called Ronny home on August 12, 2021.  Ronny is proceeded in death by his son Ronald E. Smith III, mother Gertrude A. Smith, father Ronald Smith, Gerald Diggs (Daddy), grandson Ceasar Smith Jr. brother, Ceasar Martin III , and sister Anna Rhonda Frye. Ronny is survived by his sisters Cynthia Fernandez, Michele Livingston (Ricky), and Nicole Fernandez, his life partner Savannah Ralford, and his children Ceasar Smith, Connie Smith, Brooke Robinson, Amber Reierson and Ronnika Smith (sib: Jamar, Shalha, Traves); grandchildren Kyndall, Arthur, Octavia, Lapriest, Keion, Kiara, Amelia, Ricky, Nykell, and Athena, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
