Mary Margaret Edlund

Edlund, Mary M. age 71 of Mpls. passed away on 12/16/2020.

Mary was a vibrant light on this earth with an indomitable will and infectious laugh. She was a devout Catholic throughout her life and often turned to God and the Church for strength and prayer. Mary attended Ascension Catholic School for grade school and graduated from North High School, class of 1967. She was a High Honors graduate and went on to attend the University of Minnesota, Morris. She was a member of the National Honors Society and Future Homemakers of America. She loved music and was an accomplished classical pianist.

Mary lived with many obstacles throughout her life but always carried herself with pride and respect. She was a fluent communicator and loved to write letters. She was extremely social and loved to travel and be around people. She had a beautiful, boisterous laugh that made you laugh along with her. 

Mary lived life her way. She was fiercely independent, incredibly smart and loved her children and grandchildren immensely, as we loved her. We will miss our Mom and Grandma greatly. 

Preceded in death by mother, Margaret Brecht; brother, Robert Edlund. Loved deeply by children, Jeff (Cindy), Deborah, Jim, Patricia; grandchildren, Michael, Nathan, Stacy, Amy, and Zulfi. Funeral service Tuesday 12/29, 3:00 PM with visitation starting at 2:00 PM at Billman Hunt Chapel, 2701 Central Ave. NE. Memorials preferred to Salvation Army Harbor Light Center.
