Luann Marie Bauer

Luann Marie Bauer, born March 4 1968 passed away unexpectedly at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota on June 3, 2025. Luann passed away after a decades long battle with HIV and AIDS. Celebrating each year with cupcakes and family. Luann participated in support groups and trainings. She became an HIV educator. Luann leaves behind a legacy of love, passion and activism. Luann grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin. In her adult life, she lived in Honolulu Hawaii and then moved to Denver, Colorado where she met the love of her life, Jack Patterson and raised her kids Mai and Anthony for 17 years. In the past several years Luann had moved back to northern Wisconsin where her husband and kids joined her. After losing her husband she moved to Minnesota. Luann lived her life fully and was always willing to help others. She especially enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids. Her favorite memories including the zoo, going out for ice cream and getting them candy from the store.
Luann is proceeded in death by her husband Jack Patterson, her parents, Mary Lou and Jerome Bauer and many uncles and aunts. She is also proceeded in death by many friends that she met through her battle with HIV.
She is survived by her daughter Mai Krohn, son Anthony Patterson and son in law Joshua Krohn. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Kayson, Luanna and Gus Krohn and her brother in law Chris Patterson.
Luann will be remembered by many bonus children, cousins and friends. Luann will be remembered for her love and compassion. She had a beautiful heart and will be greatly missed. A celebration of life for family and friends will be held on September 6 at 2PM in the Hammond Town Hall located at 1816 County Rd E, Hammond, WI. Family and friends are asked to wear Hawaiian shirts, bright colors or shades of blue.
