Letresia Thaddies Obituary

Letresia Michelle Preston (née Thaddies), affectionately known as “LT,” was born on October 27, 1964, to the union of the late Otis Thaddies, Sr. and Dianne Thaddies. She graduated from West Side High School with the Class of 1984 and was a dedicated Supervisor of Sleep Number.

At an early age, Letresia accepted Christ as her Savior while attending Mount Calvary Interdenominational Church, where she faithfully served by playing the piano. A woman of deep faith, remarkable strength, and unwavering love, Letresia touched countless lives with her warm spirit, quick wit, and generous heart.

Later in life, Letresia relocated from Gary, Indiana, to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she began a new chapter filled with love, family, and cherished memories. It was there that she met and later married the love of her life, Randall Preston.

On August 21, 2021, she was united in holy matrimony to Randall Preston. Together they shared a beautiful bond built on friendship, laughter, devotion, and countless adventures. Whether they were heading out on weekend bingo trips, shopping at Sam’s Club, or simply enjoying each other’s company, their love was evident to everyone around them. Randall was not only her husband but also her favorite travel companion, shopping partner, and biggest supporter.

Letresia was intelligent, funny, and full of life. She had a special gift for making people laugh, feel welcomed, and leave with a full heart—and usually a full plate. Her love language was undoubtedly acts of service, and she expressed her love best through cooking. Family and friends knew that if LT was in the kitchen, something special was on the way. A trip to Sam’s Club often included a stop in the spice aisle, where she could be found searching for her next culinary treasure. Sunday dinners became a cherished tradition, as she lovingly prepared meals that brought everyone together around the table. If you left her house hungry, it was probably because you escaped before she could insist on fixing you a plate to take home.

One of Letresia’s most admirable qualities was her incredible strength. Throughout her life, she endured heartbreaking losses that would have shaken many, yet she continued to love fiercely, support selflessly, and encourage those around her. Despite her own pain, she remained a source of comfort, wisdom, laughter, and unwavering support for those she loved. Her resilience was matched only by her compassion.

On May 25, 2026, Letresia peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, service, and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis Thaddies, Sr. and Dianne Thaddies; her brother, Otis Thaddies, Jr.; and her three beloved children, Carl Thaddies, Jermaine Tillman, and Monique Tillman.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Randall Preston; daughter, Stacy (Sam) Pullen-Dawson; son, Michael Curtis; stepchildren; grandchildren; godmother, Gloria Johnson; brother, Verdell Caples, sister Maddie Ross, sister Azalia Henry; nieces, nephews, and cousins; special cousins, Aisha Paxton and Patricia Miller; honorary family members, Jake Shuler, Leeshia Thorpe, and Rai Robinson; along with a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones whose lives were forever touched by her kindness, generosity, humor, and love.

Though her seat at the table is now empty, the love she served, the laughter she shared, and the memories she created will continue to nourish the hearts of all who knew and loved her unconditionally.
