Jo Heath

Jo Russell Heath, 82, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026. Born on January 17, 1944, in
Ogden, Utah, to Joe and Marie Russell, Jo remained a proud daughter of Utah throughout her
life. She later married Stan Heath, with whom she built a life centered on family and faith.
The youngest of five daughters, Jo embodied the trademark Russell work ethic and a fierce,
admirable independence. A self-described "tomboy" she brought a competitive spirit and a
"family-first" philosophy to everything she did—values she successfully instilled in her three
sons.
An avid sports enthusiast, Jo was a devoted supporter of the Denver Broncos and the Iowa
State Cyclones. Her greatest passion, however, was cheering for her children and
grandchildren. Whether at a ballpark, football stadium, or hockey rink, she was always their
most loyal and vocal advocate.
A faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jo dedicated her life to
service and humility. She held numerous roles within the church, leaving a lasting impact on her
community. In her final weeks, she expressed profound gratitude for a life she felt was truly
blessed; in reality, those who knew her were blessed by her presence.
Jo is survived by her three sons: Jon (Deanna), Chris (Laurie), and Russ (Brenda); her sisters,
Barbara Polkinghorn and Marie Hogge; and a remarkable legacy of 12 grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stan Heath; her parents, Joe and Marie Russell;
and her sisters, Delores McClellan and Connie Kimmell.
Service Information
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Billman-Hunt Funeral
Chapel, 2701 Central Ave. NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418.
A second visitation will occur on Saturday, May 23, at 9:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, 100 Silver Lake Rd NW, New Brighton, MN. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 AM.
Interment will take place at Washburn-McReavy Hillside Cemetery, 2600 19th Ave NE, Minneapolis, MN.
