Jennifer Rose Messing March 18, 1973 - November 20, 2023
Jen came into this world five weeks early on March 18, 1973 and was her unrepeatable determined self from the start. She was the youngest of eight children born to George and Joanne Messing. She was baptized, received her First Confession and Holy Eucharist, was confirmed and graduated from St. Charles Borromeo, being chosen to give the introduction to her eighth grade class at the celebratory mass. She attended Totino-Grace High School and went on to earn a degree in Social Work and Indian Studies from Bemidji State University. Following college she earned various other degrees and certifications along with a Masters in Theology. She co-founded the Frassati Society of Minnesota, ran Theology of the Body study groups, and was the president of her non-profit organization Into The Deep giving outdoor retreats and talks on Theology of the Body. Jen loved road tripping, hiking, canoeing, skiing, and anything outdoors. She touched many lives-youth, singles, engaged couples, married couples and families.
Jen was preceded in death by brothers Matthew and Mark, niece Mary Rose, nephew Paxon and uncle Jack. She is survived by her parents George and Joanne Messing, brothers Gene(Judy), Richard(Cheryl), Bob(Sal), Jerry, sister Julie Schulz(Tom), 11 nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, 18 cousins, and 8 godchildren.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 at St. Charles Borromeo Atrium 2739 Stinson Boulevard Minneapolis from 4-7pm. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 11:00am.
