Elizabeth Junius Quaye was a woman full of life, joy, and unmistakable presence. Her bright smile, uplifting laugh, and love for dressing well-especially shopping for the perfect outfit-made her untorgettable. She carried herself with grace and warmth, touching every life she encountered.
Born on August 3, 1956, in Waka Town Grand Bassa county, Liberia to the late Josiah and Emmerline Junius, Elizabeth was the youngest of six children: Helene Summerville, Rebecca Emmerline Junius King, Parmetta Johns, Counselor J.D. Junius, and Catherine Junius-Weah. She excelled academically, graduating from Lott Carey Baptist Mission School (Class of 1974) and later earning her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Liberia.
Elizabeth began her career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where her professionalism and compassion were evident. It was there she met her husband to be, Mr. Alfred Quaye. Their connection was immediate, and they married on December 6, 1986-building a partnership rooted in love, respect, and faith. This year would have marked their 39th anniversary, a true testament to a love that endured every season of life.
After moving to the United States in 1990, Elizabeth continued her life of service, working over 25 years with Maranatha / Presbyterian Homes.
She cared for elders and supported families with dignity, kindness, and devotion-impacting countless lives.
Elizabeth was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, and proud grandmother. A woman of deep faith, she nurtured and prayed for those she loved, always putting God first. Her strength, generosity, and gentle spirit
will be remembered forever.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Alfred Quaye; her children, Kommonyan (Trocon), Alfrederick (Al), and Rebecca; her grandchildren, Jordanna and Avery; and her sister, Catherine Junius-Weah, along with many nieces, nephews, church families, and friends. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the love she gave, and the faith she carried with grace. May she
rest in God's care.
