Dianne White Obituary

In Memory of Diane White
June 8, 1954 – March 11, 2023
Diane White, Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Great
Grandmother was born June 8, 1954, to Rose Mitchell and Daniel
White of Pike Bay Township, Cass County, Minnesota. She is
preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters, lifelong partner
Charles “Chuck” Shackle, daughter Autumn White, and survived
by sisters Ruth White and Nancy White, brothers Kenny White
and Daniel White, daughters Marion White and Angela White
Willard, son “Baby” Dan White, nineteen grandchildren, Manssa,
Cody, Dominik, Tawnee, Daniel, Cesia, Taylor, Anthony, Corey,
Maria, Richard, Jlind, Jimmy, Jamya, Autumn, Tommy, Athena,
Whyatt, Bella, and many other relatives and friends.
Diane was the youngest of fourteen kids. She spent most
of her childhood and young adult years living on the Leech Lake
Reservation in Pike Bay Township, Minnesota, where she cared
for her aging parents. When she was twenty-one years old, she
moved to the Twin Cities, where she has resided since.
For much of her adult life, Diane was a member of God’s
Royal Family Fellowship, and helped the Leader, Mrs. Beaver, in
many ways. One of her large on-going contributions was being
part of a group that went out to nursing homes and churches to
sing and minister to the people there. For some years, she also
served as a Nursing Assistant at Little Sisters of the Poor.
If you knew her well, you could catch her outside with her
beloved dog Gizmo, enjoying a lovely smoke! She was known for
her sense of humor, including her good-natured way of “telling it
like it is”! Whether you appreciated her honesty or not, you
always felt a connection with Diane. When confronted with
problems or adversity, she was known to respond by declaring,
“I’m a tough Indian!” One of her great pleasures was spending
time with people by going on family outings, for rides or out to eat
with friends. Diane was truly a “people person”!
Although she will be sorely missed, we praise God that our
Diane is home with her Lord, happy and out of pain.,
