O'Connell, Beatrice (Bea)
January 23, 1925 - October 20, 2025
100 years old
A long life well lived.
Beatrice was born in Cortland, New York on January 23, 1925, and grew up
in Homer, New York where she graduated Valedictorian of Homer Academy
and High School in 1943. She went on to graduate in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Cornell University and New York Hospital School
of Nursing. She would go on to marry her husband, "Jack" and relocate
to the "Midwest", eventually building a home in New Brighton, Minnesota.
Bea enjoyed many activities including gardening, knitting beautiful sweaters, quilting, and reading great books but perhaps her favorites were playing Bridge whenever she could and spending Happy Hour with Alex Trebek on Jeopardy.
Preceded in death by parents Mary and C. Grant Watson,
brother Bernard Watson, sister Adeline (Lucy) Bowler, and devoted
husband John C. O'Connell.
Survived by daughters and sons, Mary Kone, John O'Connell,
Charles O'Connell (Sonja), Patricia O'Connell (Donald Wajda), Nancy O'Connell (Nicholas Peck), 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Final services will be held at Fort Snelling with a private ceremony at the family's request.
