Aggie was born in Soudan, MN on July 19th, 1937, the daughter of Jacob and Angela Pavlich. She married Anthony Yapel on June 18th, 1960, and they spent 64 wonderful years together.
Aggie attended The College of St. Scholastica and transferred to the University of Minnesota where she earned a Dental Hygienist degree in 1958. She went on to work as a hygienist for over 30 years at several different practices.
Family was first and foremost in her life, including the extended families of her brother, nine sisters, and in-laws. Her friendships were also a source of great joy and support.
She loved the outdoors. Grouse hunting and blueberry picking around her hometown were her passions. After retiring, Aggie oversaw the building of her and Tony’s cabin on Lake Vermilion and loved spending as much time as possible in the north woods.
Aggie was an avid reader of literature and American history, she was a long-time season ticket holder with the Minnesota Orchestra, and also liked to travel, having made trips to Wales, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia, where she visited her cousin Romana’s family in Opatija.
When at home, she stayed active by walking, cross-country skiing and running, winning the age 50+ category of the Vermilion 10K run on July 4th, 1988.
Aggie had a deep faith in God and was a devoted member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Roseville, MN for over 60 years. During that time, she was a member of the choir, enjoyed weekly Bible sharing, participated in the Befriender program, providing emotional support to those in need, and was a committed supporter of the MCCL prolife organization.
She was a generous, compassionate, and positive mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, colleague and friend. Aggie is survived by her children Timothy (Carol) Yapel, Robert (Theresa) Yapel and Terese (Lawrence) Ricci; grandchildren, Valentina (Dave) Ronning, Brandon (Mary) Yapel, and Victoria (Jake) Blum; great-grandchildren, Theresa, Peter, Maria, Anthony and Elizabeth Ronning, and Monica Yapel; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Living Life Home Care, especially her caregivers, Gibril, Dervis and Selena, and staff Robin, Trina, Sara and Marisa, and to her Physical Therapist, Cindy.
