Viola Mae Obert, of Fridley, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017. She was 85 years old.

Viola was born on November 9, 1931 in Jackson County, Minnesota to Henry and Lilla Hanson. She was the youngest of 7 brothers and sisters.

Viola went to school and met her husband, Harold, in Windom. The couple were married in 1949. They has a son, Steven, and a daughter, Jeanne. Harold was a WWII veteran and following the war he took on various jobs as a millwright. The family eventually settled in Fridley and Viola had fond memories of building their home in 1962. She worked for 25 years as a Document Control Specialist for Control Data.

Harold and Viola were active in Sons of Norway Oslo Lodge #2. They had fun and memorable times with family and friends.

Viola was preceded in death by her brothers, sisters, and her husband, Harold, in 2009. She continued to happily reside in her Fridley home.

Funeral Service at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, September 20th at Billman~Hunt Funeral Chapel with visitation one hour prior beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
