John Sarbo Obituary

About John

John K. Sarbo was born on Friday, February 18, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York.  He was the only son of Comfort Dennis and John K Sarbo Sr.  He has 2 sisters and several step siblings. John moved with his mother to MN, after the passing of his father.

John played football in high school and had an extreme love of all things sports.  He could tell you just about any statistic on just about any sport. He would have made a great commentator. He also had a deep love for music which moved him to become a DJ, performing at several venues including First Avenue. He was well known around Minneapolis as “Big O”.

Both of those passions paled in comparison to the joy he felt on September 23, 1995, when he became a father to beautiful Jennifer Sarbo.  From there, his little family grew. John married Shannon Rofick on Saturday, November 26, 2007 and with that came his bonus daughters, Ashlyn and Loryn Rofick. On September 26th, 2010, Gabrielle Malia Sarbo completed the family.

John fought a long, hard fight with heart disease and finally fell asleep in death on Monday, November 18, 2019. We share his hope for the future and patiently await the day where death will truly be no more. Until we see you again, Big O.

Survivors include: Shannon Sarbo (wife); Jennifer and Gabrielle Sarbo (daughters); Loryn and Ashlyn Rofick (step daughters); Comfort Rice (mother); Chally Rice (step father) Charlesetta and Albertine (sisters) and many more loving family members.
