John Partyka, of Northeast Minneapolis, passed away peacefully at home on Easter morning. He was 96 years old. John was born in Krakowiec, Poland to Stanislaw and Rozalia Partyka. He is a survivor of German forced labor during WWII. He immigrated to Minneapolis in 1949 and was a retired employee of Hennepin County.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Lorraine (Basara) of 54 years; son, John (Janell Thorson); grandson, John Robert; sister, Kathryn Tarka (Andover); brothers, Jozef and Stanislaw (Poland); numerous nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, and family in Winnipeg, Poland and the U.S.
He was preceded in death by wife, Stella (Baran) Partyka (1962); parents; brothers, Stefan, Michal, and two infant brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 7th at Holy Cross Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial at Gethsemane Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to donor's choice.
