Rev. James Willie Page
Sunrise: May 24, 1935 - Sunset:  May 16, 2017

The Page and Stryker families regret to announce the home going of Rev. James Willie Page, a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, great-granduncle, cousin, and friend. He passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Rev. Page was born on May 24, 1935 unto the union of James Willie Page and Catherine Rebecca Stryker-Page of Owensgrove, Grand Bassa County. Rev. Page was the last of ten (10) children, all of whom predeceased him. He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington Institute (BWI) in Kakata, Margibi County. Thereafter, he migrated to Germany to pursue higher studies in Architectural Engineering. Upon his return to Liberia, Rev. Page contributed to the infrastructure and development of the country, and was employed by the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Public Works.

Rev. Page was called at an early age to the ministry, to administer God’s work by teaching the Gospel. In 1991, he was ordained as a Licentiate Pastor at The Living Water Baptist Church, Tarr Town, Monrovia, Liberia. He was a strong member of Providence Baptist Church Fellowship (PBCF). Rev. Page affiliated with many pastoral and societal organizations in Liberia and the United States.

Rev. Page served as an Assistant Pastor for more than 12 years at Joy World Mission Church, now called Joy World Universal Church in Minnesota. His powerful vocals (“golden bass”) made him admirable amongst many, particularly his peers.

Rev. James Willie Page, also known by many as “Father”, “Dad”, “J. Willie”, “J. Willie Page”, “Uncle James”, “Neighbor”, “Rev. Page” and “Mr. Page” leaves to mourn his loss: his wife, Mrs. Esther H. Page (from whom he was separated); his children: Beate Steil and Ingo Dettling of Germany; Garblah Page and Catherine W. Page of the USA; Wilhelmina Page, Ninje L.J. Page, Mcyonordee Page, Patience S. Page, Sharon Page, James Willie Page, Jr. and Richard Page - all of whom reside in Liberia; thirteen grandchildren; nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, great-grandnephews, great-grandnieces, cousins, in-laws, a host of other relatives, and trusted friends living in Liberia, the United States, and around the world. May his soul, and the souls of all those who predeceased him, rest in perfect peace!
