Carol June (Pieper) Peterson

Our dear Mother, Carol Peterson, passed away on March 10, 2018 at Lake Owasso Friendship Homes, surrounded by family.

Carol was born June 28, 1938 to Florence and Oscar Pieper in Norwood Young America, Minnesota. She moved to Minneapolis where she worked at Northland Electric and met her future husband, Ray Peterson.  Ray and Carol married March 12, 1960 and Carol supported Ray in the family business, Industrial Lighting Supply.

After marrying Ray, they had three exuberant sons and she began a full life as home maker, Cub Scout Mother and active church member. She lived and worked in Minneapolis for 25 years.

Carol enjoyed her family, many friends, St. Matthew Lutheran Church, volunteering at Global Health Ministries and church events, her Circle group, home, garden, weight group, bus trips and traveling.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Randy Peterson, Todd (Amy) Stegora-Peterson; and her sister, Marion Paulson; daughter-in-law, Jackie Passer and grand-children: David and Brad Peterson and Colin, Zoe and Ella Stegora-Peterson; along with many nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Florence; husband, Ray; son, Rick; her sister, Lucille Zabel; brothers-in-law, Floyd Paulson and Warner Zabel, Walter Samuelson; and sister-in-law, Gwen Samuelson.

Our family is extremely grateful to Friendship Home group homes for the loving kindness given to Carol throughout her time with them and Heartland Hospice who provided loving care to the end.

Visitation 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26th at St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27th with visitation one hour prior, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the church. Burial at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Global Health Ministries or a charity of your choice.
