Richard J. "Dick" Scovil, of St. Anthony Village, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017. He was 78 years old.

Dick worked for the NSP Blackdog Power Plant for 32 years. He will be most remembered for his love and devotion to his family. Dick could fix anything and was always willing to offer his help and mechanical knowledge to anyone who needed it. He had a great smile and knack for solving puzzles on Wheel of Fortune and he loved to pull pranks on his family and friends. He also enjoyed the outdoors, particularly spending time at deer camp with his boys and picking blueberries in Northern Minnesota.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Alvina Scovil; brother, Jack.

He will be dearly missed by Nancy, his loving wife of 57 years; his children: Julie (Daryl), David (Ann), Brian (Kaye), and Bradley (Melissa); 7 grandchildren: Christine, Paige, Leah, John, Nick, Ayden, and Taryn; sisters, Marilyn (Dennis) Cavanaugh and Georgene (Paul) Glubke; sister-in-law, Joanie; other loving relatives and friends.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 28th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with gathering one hour prior beginning at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment at Sunset Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Food for the Poor.
